Lake Park is a small, historic town on the Lake Worth Lagoon in northern Palm Beach County, between Riviera Beach and North Palm Beach. Originally planned in the 1920s as Kelsey City, it offers waterfront access, a public marina, and some of the more attainable home prices in the northern part of the county.

Lake Park began as Kelsey City, a planned community laid out in the 1920s. Its grid of residential streets and the Park Avenue downtown corridor reflect that heritage.
The Lake Park Harbor Marina provides boating access to the Intracoastal Waterway and the Lake Worth Inlet, and the beaches of Singer Island are a short drive away.
Lake Park is close to U.S. Highway 1, Interstate 95, and Northlake Boulevard, with easy access to Palm Beach Gardens and West Palm Beach.
Public schools serving Lake Park are part of the School District of Palm Beach County, and the area is also served by private schools. School assignments are based on address and can change, so confirm boundaries directly with the School District of Palm Beach County before making a purchase decision.
Housing includes single-family homes, townhomes, and condominiums. The town's location near the water and its proximity to Palm Beach Gardens and North Palm Beach make it attractive to buyers seeking value in the northern part of the county.
Review the HOA, condominium, or club documents, budget, and fees carefully before you make an offer, and ask whether any special assessments are planned. If you are buying a condominium, ask for recent milestone inspection reports and the structural integrity reserve study, which Florida law requires for many condominium buildings three stories or taller, since they can affect future assessments.
Look up the property's flood zone on FEMA's Flood Map Service Center and get homeowners and flood insurance quotes early. Insurance can significantly affect your monthly cost, and a lender may require flood insurance depending on the zone.
Ask the seller for the roof's age and a wind mitigation inspection report. Florida requires insurers to offer discounts for qualifying wind-resistant features, such as impact-rated windows or shutters and stronger roof attachments, so these features can lower your premium. You can look up the property's hurricane evacuation zone through Palm Beach County Emergency Management.
If the home will be your primary residence, apply for Florida's homestead exemption with the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser, generally by March 1 of the year after you purchase. Once a home is homesteaded, Florida's Save Our Homes provision limits yearly increases in its assessed value to 3% or the change in the Consumer Price Index, whichever is lower.
