Many condo and HOA communities require tenant approval, set minimum lease lengths or limit how often a home can be leased. Our neighborhood and condo guides list each community's leasing rules, and we confirm them before your home is listed.
Florida law requires the landlord to tell the tenant in writing where the deposit is held within 30 days of receiving it, and to return it within 15 days after the lease ends or send written notice of a claim within 30 days. See Florida Statutes section 83.49.
A standard homeowner policy may not cover a home you lease to others. Ask your insurance agent about a landlord policy before the tenant moves in.
